Bedside Discussions
For the Bedside Trust to transform healthcare organizations into proactive businesses, we have to embed ourselves, “Boots on the ground,” where real life challenges occur. While we walk the floors and attend meetings, we’re constantly bombarded with big questions and concerns that every organization finds themselves wrestling with. The urgency of these challenges prompted us to begin, “Bedside Discussions,” a regular, brief web/phone based get-together where we can meet your challenges with actionable solutions.
Our upcoming discussion, Meetings With Meaning, came from a CNO approaching me saying, “I'm working on a major PI project with several physicians and executive members and the meetings were having aren't creating answers, just more tasks and less and less buy-in…how can we stop wasting all of our time and get some ROI from meetings?”
A frustrated CEO asked, “How can I get my physicians into alignment so I don’t have to manage so many individuals so closely?” Which led to our topic, Command and Control vs. Catch and Release, a direct response aimed at creating a self-propelled workforce.
How Cultural Operating Systems Grow Capacity came from an overwhelmed VPMA who shared, “We can't add another thing to our staffs workload - we’re so busy around here I don’t know how long we can maintain much less meet knew challenges.”
And then there was the CMO we work with saying, “Our physician partners are at war with hospital leadership regularly and the effects are obvious to all of us...Is there something I can do to prevent further damage,” initiating our discussion, How Physician-Hospital Relationships Impact Quality of Care.
